Why build a new auto tech shop?

Check out this five-minute video featuring local student Sterling Konrad, auto tech and welding instructor Matt Kennedy, and owner of 509 Automotive Matt Smith. It beautifully illustrates how a new shop will spark student interest, build career pathways, and improve availability of local services.

We’re thrilled to share that the auto tech shop construction is proceeding on schedule! The picture on the left was taken in May, and the photo on the right was taken just last week. The exterior of the shop, including the public restrooms, siding, and garage doors, are largely complete. In the next phase of work, we’ll be concentrating on the shop’s interior to have it ready for the new school year which starts August 29.
