A Sense of Place Spotlight: Serious Fun Studio What they do: Serious Fun Studio is a small architecture and design firm based in the Methow Valley. The spirit of collaboration and enthusiasm for the entirety of a project from an idea’s inception to its finest detail are what drive the studio’s continued pursuit of designs that are seriously fun.Creative partners and spouses, Kit and Sam Kollmeyer, have worked in architecture and construction for 18+ years, with experience in a variety of project types, including commercial, residential & public work.“Take your pleasure seriously” – Charles Eames: Kit and Sam love what they do, and this simple quote is their mantra. Their goal is to connect with people in a meaningful way and produce exceptional work.Sam and Kit encourage you to stop by the studio to see what they’re up to – and get in on the fun. What’s new or exciting: We’re working on a variety of project types from panelized and factory-built housing to landscapes and even an airplane hangar! How they interact with the physical landscape of the Methow: We strive to create positive change in our community through planning and the built environment. What they’ve recently built that connects them to the Methow: We’ve been particularly enjoying all the summer actives in our recently built TwispWorks pavilion! It warms our hearts to have designed such a well utilized space in our community.Their favorite Methow summer activity: How could we choose? Floating, hiking, biking, cookouts, reading in a hammock. We’re just happy to be here. What’s making them smile: Wildflowers! We’ve had unusually wet weather for this time of year. It’s so cool to see so many wildflowers on our summer hikes. How to get in touch with Serious Fun Studio: Our summer hours are a bit sporadic, but stop in if we’re here to say hi, call Kit 509-899-8380, or email us info@seriousfun.studio. ...
