Fulfulling a Valuable Role in the Community

What is the Auto Tech Facility?

In 2020, the Methow Valley community recognized the need for an updated facility for the blossoming MVSD auto program. TwispWorks stepped forward with a transformative solution.

By developing a state-of-the-art facility in partnership with the Methow Valley School District and through generous donation from the Methow community, we've provided a purpose-built space that supports innovative technical education and opens new opportunities for local students.

From Vision to Reality

The Journey of the Auto Tech Facility

The Auto Tech Facility at TwispWorks is the result of years of planning, collaboration, and dedication to supporting local automotive professionals and apprentices. From the initial concept to the final build, this space was designed to provide high-quality tools, workspaces, and training opportunities. Here are the key milestones that brought this facility to life.

  • Dream Big Initiative Sparks the Vision

The idea for an expanded auto tech facility emerged from the Methow Valley School District’s Dream Big event, where the community identified career and technical education as a key priority. The need for a dedicated space for auto tech and welding training was clear.

  • Funding Secured & Partnership Formed

TwispWorks and the Methow Valley School District secured major funding, including $758,000 from the Moccasin Lake Foundation and $450,000 from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. TwispWorks agreed to provide and maintain the facility, while the school district supplied equipment, curriculum, and staff.

  • Groundbreaking & Construction Begins

A groundbreaking ceremony at TwispWorks marked the official start of construction on the new 2,100-square-foot Auto Tech Facility, designed to house two vehicle bays, a hydraulic lift, and industry-standard equipment.

  • Construction Progresses Through Summer

Throughout the summer, crews worked to bring the vision to life. Structural framing, electrical work, and specialized drainage systems were installed to ensure the facility met industry standards and environmental safety requirements.

  • Facility Completed & Classes Begin

After months of construction, the facility was completed on time and under budget. Students started using the space at the beginning of the school year, gaining hands-on experience with auto repair, welding, and emerging technologies like electric vehicles.
