The History of the Methow Valley Bulletin Board

A Legacy of Connection

For over two decades, the Methow Valley Bulletin Board has been a trusted community hub, connecting residents through job postings, local services, and important discussions. Originally created by Methownet in 2002, the platform grew to over 10,000 users and 100,000 monthly page views, becoming an essential space for buying, selling, trading, and staying informed.

Recognizing the Bulletin Board’s vital role, Methownet founders Jeff Hardy and Maria Converse sought a new home for the platform when Methownet was acquired by Okanogan County Electric Cooperative (OCEC). They found the perfect steward in TwispWorks, an organization dedicated to fostering economic and community resilience in the Methow Valley.

As of 2024, TwispWorks proudly manages and operates the Bulletin Board, ensuring it remains free, accessible, and unchanged—just as the community has relied on for years. Whether for everyday exchanges or during critical moments like wildfire emergencies, the Bulletin Board continues to be a cornerstone of connection, support, and local collaboration in the Methow Valley.
