Orchard House Doughnuts is a small-batch bakery specializing in handmade, creative, and seasonal doughnuts, crafted with care by owners Rose Walker-Young and Arcana Ferschke. What began as a home-based operation quickly became a Methow Valley favorite, thanks to their inventive flavors, dedication to quality, and deep love for the local food community.

Rose and Arcana’s doughnuts are not your average pastries. They use a brioche-style dough, naturally leavened and fried to golden perfection, then topped with an array of house-made glazes, fillings, and seasonings. Flavors change with the seasons, incorporating fresh, local ingredients wherever possible—think cardamom honey glaze in the winter, fresh plum jam in the summer, or a savory doughnut with chèvre and herbs in the spring.

The Story Behind the Bakery

Rose and Arcana’s journey began in 2019 when they moved into a small home surrounded by an orchard bursting with apples, cherries, apricots, plums, and more. Inspired by the natural abundance around them, they began experimenting with baking as a way to preserve and celebrate the seasons.

What started as a weekend stall at the Methow Valley Farmers Market quickly gained a devoted following, with locals eagerly lining up for their weekly fix. After years of perfecting their craft in pop-ups and markets, they made the leap to a permanent storefront at TwispWorks in late 2024, allowing them to expand their offerings and serve their community year-round.
