The Independent Learning Center (ILC), located on the TwispWorks campus, is an innovative high school affiliated with Big Picture Learning. Serving students in grades 9-12, the ILC employs a mastery-based approach, emphasizing interest-driven and personalized learning within real-world contexts. Authorized by the Washington State Board of Education, the ILC graduates students based on their mastery of competencies aligned with Common Core State Standards and college admission expectations. The program encourages students to “leave to learn,” blurring the lines between education and the real world, and empowering each student to act with purpose and passion.
