Participate in “Spend A Ben”

TwispWorks and the Methow Conservancy have partnered to launch Spend a Ben – an online sales campaign where people can purchase goods, services and gift certificates from participating local businesses or contribute to one of the Methow Valley’s great nonprofits.

Spend a Ben was initially launched to help local businesses impacted by the devasting 2014 and 2015 wildfires. With the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our local economy, we are bringing Spend a Ben back again this year. More than 50 Methow Valley-based businesses and nonprofits are participating, and more are joining every day!

People can visit www.SpendABenMethow.org and pledge to spend $100, or really any amount, at participating businesses and nonprofits. You can also enter to win a tour of the TwispWorks campus including a behind the scenes tour of the OSB Brewery or win a guided hike through the Methow Conservancy’s Meadowlark Natural Area. Time and date to be determined.

Go to SpendABenMethow.org Web site and you’ll find all participants listed alphabetically and with a single click, you’ll be taken directly to a business or nonprofit’s eCommerce platform.

Please consider spending a Ben and show your support for Methow Valley businesses, nonprofits and the community. We’re all in this together!

Want Your Business to Participate in Spend A Ben?

We’d like to offer the opportunity for any business in the community to be listed in our on-line directory of places to spend your Bens in the Methow.

Here’s what we need you to do:
Email info@methowconservancy.org with the following simple information:
• The official name of your business
• A hyperlink to a site where someone can spend money to support you — again this is either your online store, your gift certificate site on Kabbage, or your GoFundMe me site. We do NOT simply want your chamber listing or your homepage. We want a place where people can immediately spend their Bens.
If you need technical support in creating a Kabbage account or GoFundMe site, contact Jamie Petitto with the Twisp Chamber of Commerce or Anne Young with the town of Winthrop.

We understand that not everyone may yet have an online way for people to spend money to support you.
• If you hope that people will buy gift certificates from you, you will want to build a profile online. Many local businesses have been using Kabbage for this. It is easy!
• If you prefer to ask people to just give you funding directly, you will want to create a GoFundMe Covid-19 profile. You can find information about how to do that here.

The 2020 “Spend A Ben” campaign is brought to you by TwispWorks and the Methow Conservancy.
