Hannah Viano is an adventurous artist, author, and illustrator making art in the Methow Valley.

Her books are suitable for young and old alike and include “S is for Salmon- a pacific northwest alphabet,” “Arrow to Alaska,” and “B is for Bear- a natural alphabet.” She works across a variety of mediums from paper-cutting to water colors, and in addition to her books, she makes her work available as original framed artwork, prints, and greeting cards.

Hannah is also a commissioned artist. Her commissioned projects include works for Altai Skis, The Felicity Ann Boat Project, The Pine Hearts, IVARS, San Juan County Dept. of Emergency Management, One Simple Question (movie), The Center for Wooden Boats, Rainshadow Running, Turner Farm, V Smiley Preserves, and Edible Seattle.

When describing her life path and artistic inspiration, Hannah says, “In my life art has been fit in around the edges, a tiny sketchbook and a stolen moment in the rigging of a sailing ship, or a thick roll of paper held open by my bare feet in the sand. I have taught and danced, researched and adventured from Ketchikan to Cape Horn. Currently snug in Washington’s Methow Valley, I carve out the pieces of those days that need to be saved for other eyes and find new inspiration in treasures close to home.”
