Style & Sound

Rumba DB specializes in Rumba‑Soukous, a dynamic and danceable genre rooted in 1940s–50s Congolese rumba but evolving through vibrant, high‑energy guitar interplay known as soukous. This style has become a celebrated Pan‑African phenomenon and is embraced worldwide.

Expect beautifully layered guitars—solo, rhythm, and mi‑solo—syncopated bass, spirited percussion, and lush vocal harmonies. Their live performances are immersive, communal, and designed for movement and celebration.

Live At TwispWorks

Join us on Friday, July 25th for an evening of joyful rhythm and movement with Rumba DB, a powerhouse collective bringing the sounds of Congolese rumba and soukous to the Methow Valley. With roots in Central Africa and deep grooves driven by layered guitars, soaring vocals, and percussion that pulses through your feet, Rumba DB creates the kind of music that fills a summer night with dancing, laughter, and connection.

Based in Seattle but made for open air and open hearts, Rumba DB invites everyone to join in the rhythm—no experience necessary, just bring your spirit and maybe some shoes you don’t mind dancing holes in.

Music starts at 7PM on the TwispWorks Pavilion stage and runs through 10PM. All are welcome.
