Farewell to TwispWorks board members Stu Spencer and Anne Eckmann

Farewell to TwispWorks board members Stu Spencer and Anne Eckmann

What a Send-Off!

TwispWorks has two spectacular board members terming out of service, and we are sad to see them go. Anne Eckmann and Stu Spencer have served as luminaries on the TwispWorks board for 11 years combined.

I first met Anne almost two decades ago as an enthusiastic (and frequent) supporter of my small farm when I sold at the Methow Valley Farmer’s Market and at the pizza nights in Mazama (remember those days?). She brought even more enthusiasm to the vision and mission of TwispWorks. Anne truly understands what it’s like to operate a small business here, raise children, and navigate the challenges and benefits of our rural, recreation-based economy. Anne’s laugh is almost as famous as her jam, and I will miss both her contributions to the culture and wisdom of TwispWorks.

I first met Stu online during the darker days of COVID and was immediately impressed with his insight and business savvy—even via Zoom! A passionate advocate for TwispWorks’ programs and our success throughout the valley, as well as our amazing campus, Stu often touts TwispWorks stats over a beer at the Mazama Public House. He has encouraged TwispWorks staff and board to think creatively about how to sustain and grow this organization so that our positive impacts continue for generations. Stu’s warmth, timely pastry deliveries, and overwhelmingly generous spirit will be missed by me and the whole TwispWorks team.

Thank you, Anne and Stu, for taking TwispWorks to the next level!
