Cooking Class: Winter Nights in Siberia

It may be cold outside, but Irina Vodonos and Iryna Burns have just the cure for these long, cold, winter nights – a cooking course featuring the cuisine of Siberia! In this 3 hour class students will try their hands at three traditional Siberian dishes starting with a tangy and refreshing pickle soup with beef and barley. Pelmeni are the star of the second course and the two Irinas will help students mold and fill their dumplings. Russian apple cake, otherwise know as sharlotka cake, will round out the class.
Moscow native, Irina Vodonos, has taught cooking classes at PCC Cooks, The Pantry and Tom Douglas’s Hot Stove Society (all located in Seattle) as well as Chelan Catering Kitchen and the Twisp Valley Grange. Having lived in Siberia, Iryna Burns, bring her hands-on expertise in preparing Siberian dishes to the class.
This class is open to all ages. Ages 12 and under with adult supervision, please.
The cooking class will be held in Kathy Borgersen’s Commercial Kitchen, the West Shed, Building #12 on the TwispWorks campus.
