Essential Services Spotlight: KTRT

KTRT is part of what makes the Methow the Methow. Don Ashford started running the iconic radio station out of a barn behind his house in Mazama. It functioned this way for years, but as the station grew, it became clear that more space and a more convenient location were needed. In 2014, KTRT moved to the TwispWorks.

Surviving COVID was another milestone for the station. Despite the many challenges of functioning through a pandemic, KTRT continued to broadcast 24/7. That’s a huge accomplishment for a station that runs mostly on volunteer support!
