Since 2017, Methow Valley Goods has offered a warm and welcoming space to discover the incredible creativity of our local makers. What began as a holiday pop-up grew into a full-time storefront on the TwispWorks campus, returning more than $60,000 each year to local vendors. It’s been a joyful gathering point for visitors and locals alike, and we’re deeply proud of the role it has played in showcasing the talent and spirit of the Methow Valley.
As TwispWorks continues to evolve, we’ve been reflecting on how to best support our mission with the resources we have. After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close MVG in its current form. This wasn’t an easy choice, but one grounded in the realities of rising costs and a leaner team. That said, this transition also opens up new possibilities, and we’re excited to share what’s next!
Starting in mid-September, longtime MVG vendor and jewelry artist Grace Ashford will take over the space and open a new store of her own. Grace brings years of experience in the art and retail world, and her new shop will continue many of the values MVG held dear: a curated selection of locally made goods, a consistent storefront on campus, and a place to connect with the work of TwispWorks partners and Methow Made members. The new store will operate as a for-profit business, with Grace managing inventory, vendor relationships, and promotion with continued support from TwispWorks through our communications channels.
Though this marks the end of MVG as a TwispWorks program, it’s also a fresh start. We remain committed to supporting local artists and makers, particularly through the Methow Made marketing program, which we plan to grow and strengthen in the coming year.
Endless thanks to everyone who’s supported the store, we hope you’ll keep showing love to local artists and makers!
