The desks were salvaged from a LBHS surplus with the hope of creating art out of the ordinary. <p style="text-align: left;">The <a title="The TwispWorks Foundation" href="http://twispworks.org/about/the-twispworks-foundation" target="_blank">TwispWorks Foundation</a> is a support organization raising funds and awareness to help transform an old Forest Service ranger station into a center for economic development in the areas of arts, education, technology and agriculture.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This AmeriCorps VISTA position will establish fundraising and volunteer management systems for the TwispWorks Foundation, and will coordinate events and media outreach for the Foundation. The VISTA member’s duties will include creating databases, developing volunteer recruitment and tracking systems, coordinating fundraising and outreach events, developing marketing materials, conducting a membership/annual fund campaign and helping to build regional awareness of TwispWorks and the TwispWorks Foundation through media outreach.</p>

<p>Connect with the past and learn how to dye with natural Indigo in this two-day workshop with local textile artist  <a title="Culler Studio" href="http://twispworks.org/tenantsprogram/tenants/sara-ashford">Sara Ashford.</a> Sara will be running two pots of indigo and offering various ways of patterning, including shibori and pole wrapping.</p>
<p>Please contact Sara to register for her quickly-filling workshop. Participants are invited to attend either day or both days &#8211; please indicate if you would like to bring your own fabric to dye in advance.</p>
