Community Foundation Supports TwispWorks
Two grants from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington will help TwispWorks bring AmeriCorps VISTA assistance to the region this year.
A grant of $1,000 from the Methow Valley Fund of the Community Foundation will pay some of the costs of renovating the Bunkhouse, where two AmeriCorps VISTA members are living this year; the Bunkhouse is also home to the TwispWorks Artist in Residence program.
An additional grant of $2,371 from the Regional Impact Grants will support the administrative costs of TwispWorks’ assistance to the Tonasket School District. TwispWorks is providing supervisory support to Tonasket for two AmeriCorps VISTA members who will work on environmental education, recycling and math/reading tutoring at Tonasket Elementary School.
